The following incidents occurred between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
26-036917 (Firearm - Arrest): 2700 Block of Oakmont St at 0025 hours.
Officers responded to reports of a disturbance. During the investigation, officers located an illegally possessed loaded shotgun in the suspect’s trunk. The suspect was arrested for related charges.
26-037704 (Fatal Vehicle Collision): El Camino Ave / Empress St at 2157 hours.
Officers responded to reports of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with law enforcement. DUI does not appear to be a factor in this case. Due to the circumstances, detectives from our Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) and CSI responded to take over the investigation.
26-037427 (Robbery/Vehicle Burglary - Arrest): Meer Way / 22nd Ave at 1630 hours.
Officers responded to reports of an attempted robbery. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. A short time later, officers received a separate call of an attempted vehicle burglary in the area. Officers responded to that location and detained the suspect, who matched the description in the attempted robbery. After a thorough investigation, the suspect was arrested on related charges.
