The Public Information Office assists members of the media in gathering information and reporting on news events that impact the residents and visitors of the City of Sacramento. Because the media is a valuable resource to keep the public informed as to the Department's activities, the Public Information Office is a central location from which members of the media could obtain information regarding the various newsworthy events in which the Department had played a part.

UPDATE - After continued investigation by our detectives, 27-year-old Christian Garcia was arrested for charges related to felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury or death and was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on August 7th.

UPDATE - Detectives identified the suspect in this case to be 25-year-old Verick Mason of Sacramento. Thanks to the keen eye of a patrol sergeant, Mason was located on July 22 at a nearby gas station and was detained. After being interviewed by homicide detectives, Mason was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide related charges.
