On Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 5:00 p.m., homicide detectives arrested 49-year-old Calvin Lynn for the murder of his brother, 54-year-old Lawrence Lynn.
On Wednesday, August 22, 2007, the Police Department responded to a report of a foul odor coming from the backyard of 1222 South Avenue. In the backyard of this vacant house, officers found a dead body buried under some weeds. The victim was identified as Lawrence Lynn and appeared to have died from blunt force trauma. A crime scene was located at the victim’s house, in the 3600 block of Dry Creek Road.
The investigation revealed that after their mother passed away, the brothers had an ongoing dispute over the ownership of her house. Based on the evidence and statements, homicide detectives were able to obtain a murder warrant for Calvin Lynn. He was taken into custody without incident.
