On Saturday, March 07, 2009, at 4:46 a.m., Sacramento Police responded to an accident at 47th Avenue and Stockton Boulevard. The accident involved a Freightliner Roll-off truck and a green Plymouth Neon. The driver of the Plymouth Neon died at the scene.
The Sacramento Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. At this time, it appears that the Freightliner truck was westbound 47th Avenue and the Plymouth Neon was southbound Stockton Boulevard. Investigators believe one of the vehicles ran a red light resulting in a collision at the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and 47th Avenue.
The driver of the Plymouth is only being identified as a male adult pending the notification of his family. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries from the collision.
