One in Jail Two to go in Cannabis Dispensary Robberies

Sacramento Police Detectives are investigating three related robberies on cannabis dispensaries.  Police have arrested one suspect and are seeking the community's help in identifying the other two, based on surveillance footage.

On April 10, 2008, a customer was leaving a dispensary located on X Street near 14th Street when two male blacks entered the business carrying a shotgun and handgun.  The employees resisted and the suspects left leaving behind a shotgun.

On February 2, 2009, a customer was leaving a dispensary located near the 5800 block of Fruitridge Road when two male blacks armed with guns came in.  The suspects stole marijuana and money.

On March 17, 2009, a customer was leaving a dispensary located near the 3300 block of Broadway when two male blacks entered the business armed with two revolvers, pistol-whipping a worker and stealing marijuana and cash.

The Neighborhood Crimes Unit's investigation revealed that 36-year-old Ronald Royal was a customer at the business during all three robberies.  On April 16, 2009, Royal was arrested at his home without incident at the 8400 block of Center Parkway.  Detectives believe that Royal conspired with others to commit the robberies by leaving the business, thus allowing for the robbers to get inside through the open door.

Detectives are still searching for two suspects captured on surveillance camera from the March 17th robbery.  Suspect #1- male black adult, 6', large build, black beanie cap, black hooded sweatshirt, white t-shirt underneath, dark jeans, thin mustache, armed with black revolver.  Suspect #2- male black adult, 5'10, thin build, black beanie cap, light-colored short sleeved button-up shirt with designs on it, dark jeans with white designs on the rear pocket
