Governor's Reward Issued For 2008 Homicide

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person, or persons, responsible for the 2008 murder of Emanuel Michel.

On Saturday, October 18, 2008, at 12:38 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department received several calls reporting shots fired in the area of Tamoshanter Way and Florin Road.  As Officers responded, additional information came in reporting someone had been shot at 2101 57th Av.  The victim, 18 year-old, Emanuel Michel, was transported to the hospital where he later died.

The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded.  Investigators believe approximately 20 young people were socializing at the above location.  An unknown group of males tried to enter the party, but were asked to leave.  Words were exchanged between the two groups.  As the ousted group drove off, someone fired several rounds into the home, striking the victim.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this crime to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or text in a tip by texting to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter SACTIP followed by the tip information.  Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for the reward.
