On May 1, 2009, the Sacramento Police Department will be participating in National Foster Kid month by hosting 12 foster kids who will learn about police work.  The day is intended to link foster kids with professionals for a job shadow experience. 

The kids will be taken over to the Sacramento Police Department Academy where they will be given some classroom instruction on police work, get a police K-9 demonstration, learn about CSI, and get to see the police helicopter.  The event will be from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  The police department is honored to assist Foster Care by hosting this event
