On Monday, May 4, 2009, at 9:38 p.m., two men entered Goldie's Adult Book Store (2138 Del Paso Boulevard). Both men were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and had their faces covered with blue bandanas. One suspect was armed with a shotgun. They walked up to the store clerk and robbed him of personal items as well as hundreds of dollars from the cash register. Other patrons were in the business and also robbed of personal items. Both suspect fled in a vehicle.
While officers were on-scene taking the report, another officer made a traffic stop in the area of Acacia and Branch Streets (about forty-five minutes after the robbery) on a vehicle that failed to stop at the stop sign. The driver, 18-year-old David Loria and the passenger, 18-year-old Kenyetta Lofton were both on searchable probation. During a probation search of the vehicle, property belonging to the victims of the robbery that occurred at Goldie's was located along with the cash that was taken. The investigation revealed that these two men committed the armed robbery.
This is just another example of the great proactive work that Sacramento Police Officers do on a daily basis and how a routine traffic stop led to the apprehension of the two very dangerous criminals.
