The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a late night homicide that occurred in the 7800 block of Summerview Way.
On Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 10:53 p.m., Officers were patrolling the area and heard numerous gun shots south of Mack Road near Center Parkway. While Officers were checking the area, a call came in stating someone had been shot in the 7800 block of Summerview Way. Officers responded and found two people shot in front of a house. Victim #1- male, Black, 21-years-old died at the scene. Victim #2-male, Black, 19-years-old was transported to U.C. Davis Medical Center and was listed in serious but stable condition.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. At this time it is believed that the two victims, who are neighbors, were standing outside when two suspects approached and shot the victims. It is unclear at this time the motive for the shooting. The suspects are described as being male Blacks wearing dark clothing.
