The Sacramento Police Department is releasing a composite sketch of a sexual assault suspect. Investigators hope that someone will recognize him and provide information leading to his identity.
On Sunday, May 17, 2009, at 8:00 p.m., the victim, female in her 30's, was sitting near the water's edge just off the bike trail between the Tower Bridge and I Street. She was wearing earphones and listening to music. The suspect approached and grabbed the victim from behind and then physically and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect is described as a male, Black, 40-50 years old, 5'10"-6'0", 180-200 lbs, medium length black and gray afro, possible southern accent, and walking with a limp. He was wearing a short sleeved plaid shirt, baggy blue jeans, black tennis shoes, and light colored baseball cap.
The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this crime to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000
