Cold Case Homicide solved

The Sacramento Police Department has arrested four people for the 2004 murder of 37-year-old Clayton Skinner.

On July 3, 2004, at 10:17 a.m., Skinner was found by family members deceased at his home in the 1000 block Millet Way.  Skinner died from blunt force trauma to his head. The investigation at the time did not result in any arrests.

Detectives re-examined the case and obtained enough evidence based on interviews and forensics to arrest 23 year-old Robert Hammons, 24 year-old Christina Martinez, 18 year-old Taje Holliman, and 19 year-old Teran Holliman for the murder and robbery of Clayton Skinner.  Detectives believe that the suspects entered Skinners home in an attempt to commit a robbery.  The investigation further revealed that the three male suspects had robbed Skinner a week prior on June 26.

Robert Hammons was taken into custody today at his home in the 1800 block of Iris Avenue, Christina Martinez and Taje Holliman were add booked for homicide charges due to being in custody for unrelated charges. Martinez was in custody in Sacramento and Holliman was in custody in Utah. The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Teran Holliman in the State of Utah without incident.
