The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Roy Houston for the 2005 murder of 21-year-old Donald Mccall Jr. 

On February 17, 2005, Donald Mccall Jr. was riding as a passenger in a vehicle when they were involved in a dispute with occupants in another vehicle.  Mccall was shot during this incident and later died from his injuries. 

After the initial investigation, the case went cold without any further leads.  Later, the firearm used in the homicide was located during a probation search.  The case was re-examined using the Cold Case grant funding.  Detectives were able to use forensic evidence and statements to determine that Roy Houston committed the murder.

The Career Criminal Apprehension Team worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to locate Houston who was believed to be in Texas.  Last week, the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Roy Houston in Houston, Texas without incident.  Houston was extradited back to Sacramento last night.
