Many people have piles of important documents and small electronics they no longer need and wish they could dispose of safely. The Sacramento Police Department and the Citizens' Crime Alert Reward Program are partnering up with Rapid Information Destruction Services, Viking Shred, and AERC to offer a free document shred and e-waste disposal day on Saturday, August 15, 2009. This event will be held in the south parking lot of the Public Safety Center, 5770 Freeport Boulevard, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The general public and businesses are welcome. There is a limit of 4 banker's boxes full of documents (30-40 pounds per box) per person. E-waste can be unwanted computers, monitors, televisions, radios, speakers, batteries, fluorescent tubes, and other small electronic components.
Donations will be accepted for the Crime Alert Reward Program.
