The Sacramento Police Department, in partnership with the California Office of Traffic Safety, will be conducting several DUI operations over the next several weeks in an effort to keep the "heat" on DUI offenders. The purpose of the operations will be to hold DUI offenders accountable by ensuring they are not driving while their license is suspended.
The Sacramento Police Department will conduct a court sting operation at 300 Bicentennial Court (Traffic Court). Officers will conduct surveillance on drivers who have had their license suspended to make sure they do not drive away from court. We will also be conducting traffic enforcement operations in the area where offenders take their state mandated DUI classes. In addition to these efforts, we have released "DUI Hot Sheets" to patrol officers which provide information on DUI offenders who currently have a suspended license as a result of a DUI or have DUI warrants.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Please direct any inquiries to Sergeant David Hargadon at (916) 808-6069. Media is encouraged to attend these operations in an effort to spread awareness about the impacts of drinking and driving. Please remember: "Drunk Driving, Over the Limit, Under Arrest"
