The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community's help in identifying a car seen in the area when 21-year-old Paul Cousins was murdered.
On Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 10:53 p.m., Officers were patrolling the area and heard numerous gun shots south of Mack Road near Center Parkway. While Officers were checking the area, a call came in stating someone had been shot in the 7800 block of Summerview Way. Officers responded and found two people shot in front of a house. Paul Cousins died at the scene and the second victim survived his injuries.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. At this time it is believed that the two victims, who were neighbors, were standing outside when two suspects approached and shot them. It is unclear at this time what motivated the shooting. The suspects are described as being male Blacks wearing dark clothing.
Detectives were able to locate surveillance footage from a nearby location showing a white vehicle driving in the area just after the shooting. Investigators are seeking the community's help in trying to identify the owner of the car. At this time it is unknown if the vehicle is related to the homicide.
