The Sacramento Police Department is proud of all the great work that our officers do for the community while on duty but Officer Jeffrey Kinstler has chosen to additionally serve the community on his own time.
Officer Jeffrey Kinstler is a one year veteran of the Sacramento Police Department. Jeff has had Charlie, his K9-partner, for three years. In 2008, Jeff got hurt and began to empathize with what those with injuries or at hospitals had to go through. Jeff researched and found a training program through the Delta Society and Shriners Hospital for therapy dogs. Jeff enrolled himself and his K9 partner Charlie into the program and in October 2008 got certified as a handler. Since that time, Jeff and Charlie have been volunteering once a week at the U.C. Davis Medical Center visiting and bringing joy to patients in the pediatrics and adult portions of the hospital. Jeff said, "Charlie has such a great demeanor and personality that even those who aren't into dogs just love him."
Officer Jeffrey Kinstler is an example of the quality men and women that make up the Sacramento Police Department.
