The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 21-year-old Michael Weisz for the murder of 64-year-old Leroy Fisher.
On September 23, 2009, at 1:31 a.m., the Police Department responded to the rear parking lot of 2003 K Street regarding a subject down. Officers arrived and found Leroy Fisher wearing a security guard uniform with substantial injuries that were consistent with having been hit by a vehicle. Fisher was transported to U.C. Davis Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
Crime Scene Investigators, Homicide and Traffic Detectives responded to the scene. Based on witness statements, detectives were able to quickly identify the two occupants of the car that hit Fisher. The driver of the car was identified as Michael Weisz. Both occupants of the car arranged to meet with Sacramento Police Detectives in San Francisco at around 11:45 a.m. Michael Weisz was later transported back to Sacramento.
Based on the investigation, Detectives determined that Fisher was assigned as a security guard for Badlands, a night club/bar, in Sacramento. Fisher and another security guard had removed Weisz and his friend from the club earlier in the night. Fisher later re-contacted Weisz and his friend in the parking lot behind Badlands. Weisz was able to get into his car and hit Fisher as he drove off. Detectives believe that Weisz purposely hit Fisher with his car.
A photo of Michael Weisz is not being released at this time due to additional follow up that Detectives still have to conduct.
