Have you ever seen the police helicopter circling or police cars on a street and wonder what they are doing? If you have, you are not alone. The Sacramento Police Department has added some features at www.sacpd.org to help you find out what the police are doing. With the addition of daily logs, helicopter location information, Facebook, and twitter we hope to keep the community more informed.
Daily logs are posted on the Sacramento Police Department website. The logs are generated based on reports by patrol Sergeants on significant events that occur during their shift. The logs reflect activity from the day before and are normally posted by 9:30 a.m. every day.
Also on our website you will find a new helicopter graphic to the left of the screen. When our helicopter is circling an area for a significant period of time we will post on our website what they are doing.
Finally, the Sacramento Police Department will be tweeting and using Facebook. If you go to our website and click on the bottom right twitter or Facebook icon, you will be able follow the latest information being distributed by the Police Department.
We encourage people to visit our website at www.sacpd.org to take a look at all the features and information. Also, keep an eye on our website as we continue to enhance what the site has to offer.
