The Sacramento Police Department is investigating an early morning homicide of a 22-year-old male.
On October 24, 2009, at 1:52 a.m., the Police Department was notified by a security guard that someone had been shot in the parking lot of the 3600 block of N. Freeway Boulevard. Officers arrived and found a male victim who had been shot. The victim died at the scene.
Homicide and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. At this time, detectives believe that the victim was leaving the night club and walking to his car when he was contacted by a group of subjects. One of the suspects shot and killed the victim. The suspect is described as being a male Black, light skinned, around 5''9"-5'11", thin, and short hair. The motive for the crime is still under investigation.
When the Sacramento Police Department initially arrived there were hundreds of people near the shooting scene. We are strongly urging any witnesses that have not been spoken with to contact the police through Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
