On Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 8:16 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 3300 block of V Street regarding a shooting. Officers arrived and located the victim, a 47-year-old man, lying on the floor of his apartment. The victim had a gunshot wound to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to investigate. Detectives are actively investigating this crime. A motive for this murder has not been determined.
Witnesses reported seeing three subjects running away from the area immediately after the shooting. The subjects ran to an awaiting gold-colored Chevrolet vehicle, being driven by a fourth person, parked in the alleyway. The subjects are described as being male Blacks, in their 20s, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts.
