On November 13, 2009, 58-year-old Audrey Jackson, was booked for the murder of Francisco Perez.  Jackson was already in custody facing attempt murder charges for the same crime.

On Sep 22, 2008, the victim was sitting at 6^th Street and J Street when he was approached by Jackson who was soliciting money.  The victim declined to give her money.  Jackson walked over to her bag and retrieved a handgun.  Jackson then re-approached the victim, shot him in the stomach, and then tried to shoot him in the head when the gun malfunctioned.  Jackson left the scene and was arrested a short time later near Riverside and Broadway.

On October 27, 2009, the Sacramento Police Department was notified that victim Perez had died.  Jackson was charged with murder because it is believed that Francisco Perez died as a result of the injuries sustained from the shooting on September 22, 2008.
