The Sacramento Police Department is asking for help in identifying the person responsible for a vehicle break-in.
On Monday, December 7, 2009, at 8:30 a.m., the victim parked his vehicle in the parking lot of 5600 H Street. The victim went into the business (a dry cleaners) to run some errands. When he returned to his vehicle, he noticed that his passenger side window was broken and that personal items had been taken.
Police responded to investigate and learned that the incident was captured on surveillance video. The video indicates the suspect was driving a small pick-up truck and was already parked in the parking lot before the victim arrived. Once the victim parked his car, the suspect moved his truck to a parking space next to the victim's car. The suspect then got out of his truck and broke the victim's car window, reached inside the car and took a canvas briefcase. The suspect then fled in the truck.
The suspect was described as a male Black adult, 24-30 years old. He was approximately 5'8" and 165 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt, white and orange checkered baggy shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes. The truck he was driving was a 1998 dark gray Ford Ranger. Surveillance video is available.
