The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a fatal collision between a big rig truck and a passenger vehicle.
On December 9, 2009, at 3:59 a.m., the Police Department responded to Florin Perkins Road and Ramos Court on a traffic accident with a car on fire. While Officers were en route, a passerby and the driver of the big rig attempted to use fire extinguishers to put out the vehicle fire without success. The driver of the passenger vehicle, a male adult, was declared deceased at the scene.
At this time, Detectives believe a blue Toyota, occupied by one person, was traveling southbound on Florin Perkins Road when it collided into the trailer of the big rig truck that was leaving Ramos Court, turning onto northbound Florin Perkins Road. The Toyota went under the truck trailer and caught on fire. Traffic Investigators continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
