The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Arthur McCall for the murder of 20-year-old Jonah Simms.
On November 21, 2008, at 8:48 p.m., Simms was walking with a friend on Bowles Street near Traction Avenue. Arthur McCall confronted Simms and got into an argument. McCall then shot Simms. Simms was transported to the hospital where he later died.
Detectives were able to obtain information leading to the identity of McCall and linking him as the shooter. Investigators believe that the shooting was motivated by gang affiliations.
On December 9, 2009, Sacramento Police officers arrested McCall for unrelated narcotics charges. The additional charge of homicide was added today while McCall was still in custody at the Sacramento County Jail.
