The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that left one dead.
On January 3, 2010, at 11:53 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of W Street regarding a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a man laying in the doorway of his apartment who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. The Sacramento Fire Department responded and declared the victim dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification to his family. He is only being identified as a male White in his 50's.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that lead up to this deadly shooting. Neighbors and witnesses have been interviewed however, at this time no suspect information or motive have been determined.
