The Sacramento Police Department has concluded a California Office of Traffic Safety mobilization operation that focused on DUI drivers. This operation ran from December 16, 2009 through January 3, 2010.
During this time period, 3 sobriety and drivers license checkpoints were conducted where 2,299 cars drove through, resulting in 10 DUI arrests. There were also 8 DUI saturation patrols that resulted in a total of 30 DUI arrests. Patrol officers made an additional 68 DUI arrests. The total number of drinking and driving arrests during the mobilization period was 108.
In this upcoming year, we will be conducting more DUI operations in a continued effort to encourage people to drink responsibly and to remember, "don't drink and drive!"
