The Sacramento Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of one Officer to the rank of Sergeant and two Community Service Officers (CSO's) to the rank of Police Officer. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Police Headquarters (5770 Freeport Boulevard) and will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant
Ike Jason is a 20-year veteran of the Sacramento Police Department. He is currently assigned to the Homicide Unit where he has been a detective for the past five years.
Promoted to the Rank of Officer
Greg Takehara has been a Community Service Officer since 2008. He looks forward to a long career with the Sacramento Police Department.
Nvard Msryan has been a Community Service Officer for the past year. She looks forward to a long career with the Sacramento Police Department.

Despite these promotions, the Sacramento Police Department continues to be understaffed. Currently there are 97 sworn and 121 civilian positions vacant.
