On Sunday, January 31, 2010, police arrested 18-year-old Ricardo Hall for the murder of Mathew Maurizzio.
Hall was arrested early this morning at a motel located in the 900 block of El Camino Avenue. Officers followed a tip that led them to Hall's location. He was taken into custody without incident.
On January 23, 2010, at 1:33 a.m., officer responded to the area of Dixieanne Avenue and Cambridge Street regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, they located Mathew Maurizzio in the front yard of a nearby residence. Maurizzio was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on their investigation, homicide detectives believe Mathew Maurizzio and Ricardo Hall were involved in an argument. At one point during the argument, Hall shot and killed Maurizzio.
