The Sacramento Police Department arrested 20-year-old Jesus Gallegos for the murder of 23-year-old Tristan Salladay.
On February 14, 2010, at 3:24 p.m., officers responded to the 3500 block of 53rd Street on a man who had just been stabbed. Officers arrived finding Tristan Salladay with critical injuries. The Sacramento Fire Department transported Salladay to U.C. Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. Based upon their investigation, detectives believe that Gallegos and Salladay knew each other from the neighborhood. On Sunday, Gallegos got into a confrontation with Salladay. The confrontation got physical and Gallegos stabbed the victim.
On February 15, 2010, detectives were able to locate Jesus Gallegos in the 5400 block of 9th Avenue. Gallegos was booked the following morning into the Sacramento County jail for murder.
