The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a fatal collision which occurred in the early morning hours.
On March 21, 2010, at 1:40 a.m., officers responded to Power Inn and Elder Creek Road on a two vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers found that a Nissan Altima and a Cadillac had been involved in a major collision. The two occupants from the Nissan Altima were transported to the hospital with moderate to major injuries. Two occupants from the Cadillac suffered moderate injuries but the third passenger (female) suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
Traffic Investigators responded to the scene. Based on the preliminary investigation, investigators believe the Nissan was traveling south bound Power Inn Road and the Cadillac was turning from north bound Power Inn to west bound Elder Creek Road when they collided. At this time it is unknown which vehicle was primarily at fault for the collision. Investigators are looking at whether alcohol was a factor in this collision.
