The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 36-year-old William Todd for the murder of a 44-year-old man.
On May 31, 2010, at 8:10 p.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of Azevedo Drive regarding a reported stabbing. Officers arrived and located the victim in the threshold of an apartment. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of the stabbing injuries. During the initial investigation, officers detained William Todd near Azevedo Drive and Atrisco Circle, as the possible suspect.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. Based on the information gathered, detectives believe that the victim was visiting at an apartment. Todd was also there visiting. While at the apartment, Todd began to believe that the victim was flirting with his wife. Todd got angry and stabbed the victim with a knife. He then fled on foot. He was apprehended shortly thereafter by responding officers.
