A man arrested last year on February 12, 2009, for various sexual assault related charges, was convicted today in a Sacramento County Courtroom.
Shane Wilson, 38-years-old, of Pollock Pines was convicted of 18 counts of sexual assault related charges. Wilson was arrested after two female victims reported being picked up by a man while they walked on Stockton Boulevard. The victims were taken to an industrial part of town where the suspect physically restrained them. Once restrained, the victims were transported against their will to his residence in Pollock Pines where he sexually assaulted them.
Sexual assault detectives developed information that indicated the suspect of these crimes was Shane Wilson. Additional DNA evidence located at Wilson's residence connected him to the crimes.
Chief Braziel said, "I'm thankful to our hardworking detectives and CSI without whose dedication and diligence, this case would have never been solved. I'm also thankful to the District Attorney's Office for aggressively prosecuting this case. This is another example of how excellent investigations lead to successful prosecutions and the cooperative effort between both organizations."
