The Sacramento Police Department is searching for a child that walked away from an after school program in the area of 58^th and M Street.

On December 8, 2010, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Jean Pierre Melikian dropped off his books at his after school program and walked off.  Shortly thereafter, a parent from the school saw Melikian near Elvas and 65^th Street.  At approximately 5 p.m., there was a possible sighting of the missing child near Sandburg Drive and Camelia Avenue.  Police have been actively searching for the child since we were notified.

The missing person is identified as 12-year-old Jean Pierre Melikian, 4'11, 108 lbs, short brown hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt with "St. Mary" written on it, and tan pants.
