The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 19-year- old Marquis Greenwood for shooting and killing 18-year- old Tiekarian Troutman.
On December 27, 2010, at approx. 6:51 p.m., officers responded to 30th and Q Street on a subject that was transported in a private vehicle to a medical clinic with a gunshot wound. The victim was with a 16-year-old female. The victim was taken from 30th and Q Street to U.C. Davis Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. The victim was identified as Tiekarian Troutman.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to assist. Based on information obtained during the investigation, it is believed that the Troutman, Greenwood, and the 16-year-old female, had attempted to commit an armed robbery near 12th and E Street at approximately 6:13 p.m. During the robbery a struggle ensued between one of the suspects and an employee of the business. It is believed that Greenwood shot Troutman sometime during the robbery by accident. The 16-year-old female that was found with the victim at the medical clinic was found to be involved in the robbery.
On December 28, 2010, at approximately 1935 hrs, the Career Criminal Apprehension Team, K-9, and patrol officers located and arrested Greenwood near 14th Avenue/ 42nd Street.
Greenwood has been charged with murder and attempt robbery. The juvenile female has been charged with murder, attempt robbery, and possession of narcotics.
