The Sacramento Police Department is investigating the first homicide of this New Year.
On January 1, 2011, at approximately 4:20 a.m., officers responded to the 2100 block Amanda Way on two males who had been assaulted. Upon arrival, officers found a 48-year-old male deceased at the scene from head trauma. A second male in his 40's was also found with head trauma and transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Both victims were located in the backyard of the residence.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. At this time, detectives have not determined a motive for this crime.
