The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 22-year-old Joseph Conn, 21-year-old Arsenio Barajas, and 19-year-old Bryan Smith for the murder of 48-year-old Scott Hanson on New Year's Day.

On January 1, 2011, at approximately 4:20 a.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of Amanda Way on two males who had been assaulted.  Upon arrival, officers found Scott Hanson deceased at the scene from blunt force head trauma.  A second 46-year-old male was also found with head trauma and transported to an area hospital in critical condition.  The deceased victim was found in the backyard and the second victim was found inside the residence.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene.  Based on the investigation, detectives believe that the suspects were attempting to commit a robbery when the victims were assaulted.  The assault resulted in the death of victim Hanson and serious injuries to the other victim.

Further details of the crime and photos of the suspects are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
