Drive Safe Sacramento

Avoid Sliding Your Way Through the Winter Weather

The rainy season is welcomed as it generates water for our agriculture and water sports but the wet weather also increases the risk of being involved in an accident.  The wet and slippery roads are unpredictable.  Because of these hazardous driving conditions, there's no better season than winter to enroll in the City's driver training program, Drive Safe Sacramento.

Drive Safe Sacramento is a joint venture of the Sacramento Police and Fire Departments.   This hand's on driving course will teach or refresh your skills in braking, backing, parallel parking, accident avoidance, and skid recovery. The skid recovery exercise is one of the most highly reviewed courses. This training focuses on how to gain control of a vehicle and be prepared for skid recovery. You will gain exposure to what it feels like to be in a 360 degree spin-out and how to maneuver on slick roadways.  After the completion of this course, you will feel more comfortable behind the wheel.

Drive Safe Sacramento focuses on training defensive driving and accident avoidance techniques taught by Police and Fire experts. This program is tailored to meet the needs of new drivers as well as experienced driver.  We have found that former students enjoyed the course immensely and have noticed an improvement in their driving skills. The goal of Drive Safe Sacramento is to reduce accidents and save lives.
