The Sacramento Police Department has arrested three suspects responsible for the murder of 20-year-old Antonne Nelms.
On Monday, December 20, 2010, at 2:57 p.m., officers were contacted about a person who had been shot in the 5000 block of Mack Road. Officers located a male Black, in his 20s, with an apparent gunshot wound. Nelms was transported by the Sacramento Fire Department to the hospital where he later died.
Homicide and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. Based on the investigation, detectives believe that the suspects drove up to Nelms and his friends as they were walking on Mack Road. The victim and his friends ran as an occupant from the car shot at them. The victim collapsed a short distance away after being shot. Through evidence found at the scene, detectives obtained investigative leads which led to the identity of Darrell Miller (18), Tyvone Allen (18), and Torrey Adams (31) as the three suspects responsible for the homicide. The motive for this crime is still under investigation.
On February 17, 2011, the three suspects were taken into custody without incident and later booked into Sacramento County Jail for murder.
