Sacramento Police and Sutter Health Collaborate in Building Leaders Talent

The Sacramento Police Department and not-for-profit Sutter Health network are working together on innovative leadership training for staff at both organizations to further develop their workforces of the future. 

On February 22, 2011, Sutter Health network with be providing an interactive panel discussion about their Leadership Academy to personnel from the Sacramento Police Department. In these challenging economic times, it is these types of partnerships that allow the Police Department to provide training to our personnel at no cost as we develop the future leaders within our organization. 

About the Police Department Program

The Police Department has developed the Lessons in Leadership program which partners with numerous private businesses and entities to learn how they build leadership and success within their organizations.

"The Sacramento Police Department would like to thank Sutter Health for sharing how it develops leaders in building a successful organization. In the next three years, over 75 percent of the command staff at the Police Department is eligible to retire, so it is important that we learn the best leadership skills from various organizations as we develop future leaders for our department," said Chief Rick Braziel.

About Sutter Health's Program

Sacramento-based Sutter Health is entering the sixth season of its successful Leadership Academy. Structured like an executive MBA program, the intense, 10-month-long internal development curriculum helps employees enhance their leadership skills, connect with colleagues from a variety of disciplines, learn from leaders across many industries, and address real-life organizational strategies and issues through team-based action learning projects.
