The Sacramento Police Department wants to warn the community of a current robbery trend. With the price of gold nearing all time highs, thieves are looking for that pot o' gold. Many victims have had gold jewelry snatched right from their person.

On Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 12:15 p.m., the victim was pushing a shopping cart in the 6600 block of Stockton Boulevard when a male intentionally walked in front of her. When the victim stopped the cart to avoid hitting the male, he reached over and grabbed her gold necklace from around her neck. The suspect ran across the parking lot and jumped into a red 4-door compact car. The suspect was described as a male Asian early 20's, 5'7", 165 lbs., black hair, wearing a black coat and black pants.

On Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 5:10 p.m., the victim was walking in the 6100 block of Lemon Hill Avenue when the suspect ran up to her from behind. The suspect said nothing to the victim, he just grabbed her necklace from her neck and kept running east on Lemon Hill. The suspect was described as a male White 27-28 years old, wearing a black beanie cap, black sweatshirt and black pants.

Because of the current high value of gold, the community is cautioned about robbers and burglars targeting victims for their gold.
