The Sacramento Police Department and other law enforcement agencies will honor fallen heroes during several Law Enforcement Memorial events occurring between Thursday, April 28, and Monday, May 2, 2011.

The Sacramento Police/Sheriff's Memorial Foundation will hold its 9^th Annual Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 12:00 p.m., at the memorial site, located at 500 Arden Way. 

On Sunday, May 1, 2011, the Annual Candlelight Vigil will be held at the California State Law Enforcement Memorial monument site, located at 10^th Street and Capitol Mall.  This event will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The California Peace Officers' Memorial Ceremony honors those California Peace Officers who have given their lives providing services to the citizens of the State of California.  On Monday, May 2, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., the 35^th Annual California State Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will take place at the monument site, located at 10^th Street and Capitol Mall.

During this time, officers and members of the community reflect on the sacrifices that have been made while protecting and serving.  Those who paid the greatest price will never be forgotten.  Everyone is welcome to attend these events.
