On Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 10:10 a.m., officers responded to the 7900 block of Marla Way on a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. A male in his 50's was declared deceased at the scene and a female in her 40's was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries and is expected to survive.

The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the scene.  At this time, detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the homicide.
