The Sacramento Police Department arrested 33-year-old Raymond Brau for various charges related to exposing himself and sexually touching juvenile girls.
On May 12, 2011, at 3:15 p.m., two female juvenile victims (16 and 17 years old) were walking home from school when a male called out to them from a house on the 4400 block of 73rd Street. The victims looked over and observed a male with boxer shorts on exposing and holding his private parts. The 16-year-old victim recognized the male suspect as the same person who had grabbed her and a friend's buttocks in September of 2010 while they were walking to school. The victims immediately went home and advised an adult.
The victim's family went back to the house and confronted the suspect. The suspect got into his vehicle and fled the scene. Police officers responded and were eventually able to identify the suspect as Raymond Brau.
After extensive follow-up investigation, officers were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Brau on the charges of 314.1 PC (Indecent Exposure), 647.6 PC (Annoying or Molesting Child), 243.4 (e) (1) PC (Sexual Battery). On May 18, 2011, Brau was arrested without incident and booked into the Sacramento County Jail. Brau is also currently being investigated for two other incidents of indecent exposure and/or sexual battery which occurred to two female adults.
This incident is an important reminder for parents to talk to their children about what to do when confronted by strangers, safe routes to school which includes where to run to in case they need help, and the importance to tell an adult immediately if they are confronted by a stranger.
