Police officers are often thought of as doing enforcement to prevent crime in our community, but they also participate in intervention programs to mentor and keep kids on a path away from criminal activity through programs such as the Sacramento Police Athletic League.
The Sacramento Police Athletic League is an organization that was created by police officers to serve the youth of Sacramento. It now consists of business owners and other members of the community, as well as police officers. They currently offer a rugby, baseball, and mountain biking team.
