The Sacramento Police Department arrested three suspects for a burglary where iPADs were stolen. 

On July 1, 2011, at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers responded to an alarm call to a Best Buy store in the 3600 block of N. Freeway Boulevard.  On arrival, officers observed two suspects carrying merchandise from the store and getting into a Jeep Cherokee being driven by a third suspect.  Officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle which did not yield resulting in a pursuit onto westbound Interstate 80.  During the pursuit, which reached speeds up to 80 mph, the suspects began throwing out stolen iPADs onto the freeway in Davis, Ca. near the Mace Boulevard exit.  The California Highway Patrol took over the pursuit and the Davis Police Department assisted by deploying a spike strip near Richards Boulevard resulting in the suspects being taken into custody without further incident. 

Officers were able to collect the iPADs from the freeway and believe there were at least 10-20 iPADs taken, but due to the significant damage of the merchandise a precise count was not possible at this time.  Best Buy has had similar type of burglaries in neighboring cities and the Bay Area over the last few weeks.  However, at this time it is unknown if the suspects arrested are connected to any of the other burglaries.

The suspects are only being identified as three male Blacks, 20-30's, from the Bay Area, and two of which are on parole.  The suspects were arrested for burglary, parole violation, and the driver for the pursuit.
