The Sacramento Police Department is seeking the community's help to identify a jewelry thief.
On June 28, 2011, at 11:45 a.m., the man entered the department store in the 400 block of K Street and approached the jewelry section. He requested to see one of the men's rings on display. He placed the ring on his finger and ran out of the store.
On June 29, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., the same man entered the jewelry store in the 1600 block of Arden Way. He was looking at a number of women's rings over several minutes. He suddenly kept one of the rings and fled out of the store. The employee chased after the suspect but lost him when he crossed the street.
The suspect is described as a male Black 28-32 years old, 6'1", 175 lbs, short black hair, wearing a long sleeve orange shirt over a white t-shirt, and blue jeans. He had a piercing on the right side of his lower lip and an unknown tattoo on the top of one of his hands.
The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this crime to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
