There’s Something Fishy Going On

The Sacramento Police Activities League, in partnership with the Department of Fish and Game, is hosting a Fishing Derby on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Granite Park Pond, located at Ramona Av/Power Inn Road.

Registration for the competition begins at 8:00 a.m. and the Derby begins at 9:00 a.m.  The event is free, however donations will be accepted.  Bring your kids and compete for the biggest fish. The pond will be stocked with fish in anticipation of the event.  Participants 16 years of age and over must have a fishing license.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The proceeds from this event will benefit the Sacramento Police Activities League (Sac PAL). Sac PAL was originally established by a group of police officers to serve youth within the City of Sacramento. The PAL program today consists of members of the community, local businesses, and police officers who donate their time to at-risk youth through various programs.
