The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a hit and run accident that resulted in a man's death.
On Monday, November 28, 2011, at 9:43 p.m., the fire department was called to 19th Street and S Street on a subject down on the road. Upon arrival, they found a 33-year-old male with very serious injuries from an apparent motor vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. The man was transported to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
At this time, detectives do not know where the pedestrian was exactly when he was struck. He was found laying on 19th St just south of S Street. Investigators believe the vehicle involved may be a 1992-2002 Chevy or GMC full size pick-up or SUV with right side front end damage to the grill and reflector. Investigators also believe the vehicle involved was driving southbound on 19th Street at the time of the collision. The Police Department would like to talk to anyone who may have been driving, walking, or riding a bicycle in the area around 9:40 last night.
