On December 30, 2011 at approximately 9:05 a.m., police received a call regarding a welfare check at a business in the 6200 block of Sky Creek Drive. Later that afternoon, police received a call from family members in Reno, Nevada advising Gordon was at their home. Officers from the Reno Police Department responded and located Gordon driving the victim's vehicle along the highway. Gordon was pulled over and taken into custody.
