The Sacramento Police Department has arrested Aaron Suggs, 29, for burglary and multiple sexual assault crimes.
On Monday, January 9, 2012, at 8:46 a.m., officers were called to the victim's home on E Street. The victim had exited the shower and found the backdoor to her home was open. When she went to secure the door, she was grabbed by Suggs. Suggs sexually assaulted her and then ransacked her house. Suggs fled the scene with several items belonging to the victim.
Detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene. The investigation revealed the suspect's identity to be Aaron Suggs. Patrol officers were informed of the suspect's identity. Later that night, at 8:07 p.m., patrol officers observed Suggs at 7th Street and L Street. He was quickly arrested. Several items belonging to the victim were found in Suggs' possession.
The detectives, crime scene investigators, and patrol officers were meticulous in investigating this crime and diligent in pursuing this suspect. As a result of their hard work, this dangerous burglar and sexual predator was taken off the streets within twelve hours of committing his crime.
Suggs was recently released from the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as part of the Post Release Offender Program and realigned to Sacramento County Probation. Suggs was realigned because he was considered a non-serious, non-violent, offender.
